All sorts of weather, all sorts of entertainment, all sorts of fun!
An incredible day out was had by one and all at this year’s Frome Cheese Show where visitors were treated to lots of new attractions amongst traditional favourites.
The newly developed agri-village was hugely popular with livestock judging, carriage rides, big machine demos, Tractor Ted attractions and lots of have-a-go activities. Elsewhere visitors meandered shopping avenues laden with goodies from garden furniture to jewellery. All the Frome Show arenas had jam packed timetables all day long featuring show jumping, pony club games, bmx displays, gun dog demos, falconry and lots more.
Another new attraction and one that will certainly be returning was the Horse Shoe music stage and street food area where numerous local acts took to the stage throughout the day headlined by The Wurzels who were most definitely a huge attraction with crowds joining in to every tune – even the sun came out during their performance!
When the heavens did open visitors made the most of the show’s marquee attractions sampling delicious delicacies in the food halls, shopping in the rural craft pavilion and of course admiring the incredible selection of cheese in the Global Cheese Awards hall which this year featured over 1200 entries, lots of cheesey trade stands, plenty of delicious samples and some fantastic demos on the cookery theatre
Thanks must go to all our trade and show exhibitors, sponsors and of course the thousands of visitors who made the journey to the West Woodlands Showground; we hope you all had an enjoyable day and look forward to welcoming you back on 8th September next year!
