Are dogs allowed at the show?

Dogs are welcome at the show as long as they are on a fixed lead (non-retractable) the whole time. Certain areas will also be restricted in terms of access for dogs. Assistance dogs are exempt from restricted areas. Please do not leave your dog in your car.

What time do the gates open?

Our three public gates open at 9am. The organisers and tradestand holders always look forward to seeing the early birds.

Is there a meeting point for lost children?

Yes. Lost children can be brought to the on site show office, where they will be kept safely before being reunited with their family. We provide wristbands at every one of our three entrances and strongly advise all parents/guardians to write their mobile numbers on the bands in the event of their child getting lost. 

What time does the show close?

The show finishes at 5pm, which is the time that the last free public busses leave the show ground and head back to Frome. 

Do I have to pay for parking

No, parking is totally free. If you live in Frome you may wish to leave your car at home, though, and travel on the free busses provided by the show. 

How do I hire a mobility scooter/wheelchair?

Mobility scooters are available to hire for show day, but it is essential that they are pre-booked.

Can I reach the show by train?

Trains run to Frome Station, which is one of the pick-up points for the free bus service. For information about train times to and from Frome Station, which is on the Bristol to Weymouth line, log on to www.nationalrail.co.uk

Where and when can I catch the free bus?

Is the show located in Frome?

No. It used to be, but now it is at West Woodlands Showground, on the B3092 between Frome and Maiden Bradley. Postcode BA11 5ES. The show is well signposted from all major routes. The showground offers free car parking and a free bus service from Frome. 

Can I camp at the Frome Show site?

No, but there is a campsite very close by - Seven Acres Camping, tel: 01373 464222. 

Do you have baby changing facilities?

Yes. We offer a marquee run by the NCT. There parents can feed and change their babies in private. 

Where do I go if I have forward parking?

Forward parking is available in the public car parks. You will be supplied with a carpark label marked F. There is no specific car park F. F stands for ‘Forward’, so follow where the stewards direct you, which will be to the forward area of the public car parks. 

Do disabled people and their carers have to pay to enter the show?

We will be operating a Companion Scheme which is offered to those who need somebody to be present in order to assist them to readily access the Frome Agricultural & Cheese Show and its services through the means of mobility and guidance. Essential Companions are able to access the Show free of charge when accompanying a paying individual. One essential companion is permitted per individual.

All essential companions must be a registered Carer / PA and are required to provide supporting documentation. This is mandatory and will need to be presented at the ticket sales office on the Show day.

Please bring at least one of the following (printed or scanned copies are acceptable);

  • Middle or Higher Rate DLA for care and/or mobility
  • Receipt of personal independence payment (PIP)
  • Evidence of being severely sight impaired
  • Recognised assistance dog ID card

If the disabled visitor is a child, please purchase a child ticket at the current rate and apply for the free carer ticket in the same way.


Office opening hours

The Frome Show office in Rodden Road is open 9am - 5pm Mondays & Thursdays. From September, the office at the West Woodlands Showground will be open, too, although the Rodden Road office will still be manned if you have a query/wish to buy tickets, etc. The telephone number remains 01373 463600 at all times.
