Trade Day

2012 Cheese Pavilion

The trade day is held on the Friday before the Show and consist of the following;

  • Judging of the exhibits
  • The Chairmans Lunch where those in the trade are invited to purchase tickets
  • The Guest Speaker present at the lunch
  • The cheque presentation to the Cheese Section's nominated chairities
  • Trophies presented to the winners
  • The chance to visit the numerous trade stands inside the Cheese Pavilion

We will conitinue to improve on the new areas which were introduced at the 2011 show;

  • 75 metre cheese pavilion
  • New classes in addition to those from last year.
  • Our target is to exceed 1500 entries this year. 200 more than last year.
  • More classes and entries mean more opportunities for class sponsorship and different categories
  • An equally entertaining lunch speaker as last years Adam Henson, well known presenter on Countryfile
  • A big name celebrity to judge the new celebrity cheese class.
  • A special novelty class with big media interest to be judged by a celebrity chef.
  • More trade stands, selling more and attracting customers all day to the cheese pavilion on Saturday.
  • All day events in the cheese pavilion featuring the rangemaster cookery theatre with a celebrity chef, cheese making demonstrations with Robert Kitching and Cheese Grading Demonstration.
  • More than 50 cheese judges from the retail and dairy trade.
  • Facilities to get cheese entries to the showground via Peter Green Transport.
  • The annual Golf Day at Orchardleigh Golf Course near Frome on Thursday 6th September 2012.
  • Central display boards for sponsors logos, names and any other relevant information and leaflets.
  • More media involvement with TV cameras and reporters, local radio and press.
